Question by A Intelligent Person: Is it typical for a 16 yr old to have developing pains?

I’m sixteen, 5’11” and 150lbs. (I currently know which is really thin) I have been getting odd pains in my shins, ankles, and knees for about the last month that are absolutely random. They aren’t amazingly agonizing and they normally don’t final for a lengthy time. I have had some injuries from sports activities to all of these regions but aside from a shin pressure fracture the pains have never ever been in my bones. They remind me specifically of increasing pains like I had when I was in elementary school. I know some guys increase till 18, 19, or even twenty and I haven’t had a true development spurt considering that I was like 5’9″ or 5’10 two or 3 years in the past so this is why I inquire. Thanks in advance.
Other important detail that may or could not be clear is that I’m a guy.

It is getting to be late for this at age sixteen, but the answer to your question is that it surely is nonetheless feasible for these signs and symptoms to be developing pains. It could also be other situations. You said *bones*, not joints. A shin is a bone. An ankle and a knee are joints. (In spite of the lyrics to the previous normal, “Dry Bones”… you know, about Ezekiel… there really is no such thing as an ankle bone or knee bone. Individuals are joints in which 3 or 4 bones join collectively.)

Joint ache rather than middle-of-the-bone pain would raise other possibilities this kind of as rheumatoid arthritis or fibromyalgia–or could nonetheless be “growing pains.” An MD could x-ray a bone or two to decide if your physes were nonetheless open meaning that you have been still expanding. If not, you may take into account other prospects. If it is developing pains, you need to try to unwind and wait for it to pass there is not a specifically good treatment method for increasing pains.

I just began physical treatment for myofasical dysfunction and occipital nerve tinnitus and each time I use the ice packs or do the advised stretches, I get so nauseous that I can barely perform. Is this standard or must I be calling my PT to find out what the heck is going on?

Greatest answer:

Answer by Irina MD
You may want to inform your PT anyway, but yes it is extremely attainable. They are dealing with your head appropriate now and you are applying ice to an location that is truly shut to your vestibulocochlear nerve. IT most surely can lead to dizziness, nausea, and so on., If you are currently struggling from tinnitus, that alone can result in nausea.

Pinched nerve in left arm due to lung cancer vs standard discomfort?

Question by Unhappy: Pinched nerve in left arm due to lung cancer vs standard ache?

Ok I am frightened that I have lung cancer. I’ve been smoking a pack a day for 8 many years now. I know, I’m going to do everything to quit now. I realized I’ve had a ache in my left shoulder/upper back/left of the armpit location for about a month now with no injury or cause. I can’t seem to figure out if its a pinched nerve due to lung cancer or just a pulled muscle due to sleeping wrong (I did wake up last week with my total left arm numb because i slept on it).

Generally I really feel the ache when I stretch and lift my arm to the side. I feel no discomfort if I do the very same motions in front of me. Only to the side. I can’t locate the discomfort. I sense the “pull/pain” right above my shoulder and on my upper back, but only if I make these motions or lift weighty factors. Properly in fact it hurts much more now, but I guess since I spent an hour yesterday making an attempt to move it to all different angles to find the ache

I am going to see a doctor in a week. I just want to know so I can calm myself. Must I take some Ibuprofen? How would pinched nerve pain differ? It feels like I’ve actually damaged it, as an alternative of it getting a pinched nerve due to a tumor.
Thank you April for the advice

Serene E – If you had examine my question totally, you’d see I mentioned I am going to the physician subsequent week and I am asking to calm myself of anxiety and to get an comprehension. Appointments close to here are not quick, unless you are saying I go to the ER for this?

Because you have two options and the pinched nerve from lung cancer is an impossibility, go with the other option.
