Is it normal to already be geting back pain?

Koren’s Mommy asked:

I am 14 1/2 weeks and I am showing enough that people are noticing and I HAVE to wear maternity clothes. I am also experiencing lower back pain.

Is it normal to already have an aching back this early in the second trimester? Has anyone else had back pain this early? What did you do to relieve it?

Yes! I have read and heard that is normal. Because I have it too!! I am 15 weeks 2 days along. My back is really bothering me today. I think it’s just because my uterus is stretching and ligaments are going crazy. It’s nothing to worry about. I am only wearing maternity pants so far. My belly seems to be growing every day though. I don’t really do anything to relieve my back pain. Just try and sit up straight and not slouch. Good luck!

Everyone is different, I started to wear maternity clothes at about 14 weeks as well, but I had my pants unbuttoned with my shirt untucked for work since about 12 weeks. My back was also starting to hurt. I was on my feet walking around 8 hours a da for 6 days a week. The only thing that really helped me was a heating pad and resting. I had to quit my job at about 16 weeks (due to only one car) and since then my back has been better, except for the day after I’ve been walking all day. Good Luck and Congrats!

Hey, I am 14w4d, due on July 5th with my first. I have been having back pain for the last 2 weeks. The doctor says you can take Tylenol, but I am still scared to take anything at all. I just have to suffer through it. I am glad to hear that I am not the only person who is going through this right now, even I thought it was way too early! I started wearing maternity clothes at 10 weeks….I am showing alot!!!

Good luck and Congratulations on your pregnancy. It is such an exciting time.
