It genuinely sounds like sinusitis, it implies irritation of the sinuses. This can result in earaches also. Go to the dr. it may be something contagious

Despite my title (law and poli sci) I was a medic in the army before attending school. I have some good news for you.

If the pain is associated with swallowing you most likely do NOT have an ear problem. The reason is a phenomenom called “refered pain”. You have a nerve tract that connects your throat with your inner ear. Often a sore throat convinces a person that they have an ear ache. If swallowing is causing the ear ache to be felt dramaticaly then the problem is most likely not the ear at all.

Of course I’m not substituting this advice for seeking a doctor’s expert opinion. Get well soon!

Eustachian tubes are small tubes which connect throat and ear. Any infection from throat spreads easily to ears. Antibiotic ear drops and rest to ears by cotton plugs in the ear contain the inflammation and infection. Vitamin C gives extra protection.
This condition is called Eustachian catarrh , Otitis interna and Otitis media.
