She gave me Daypro and Cipro and said it might be a kidney infection. I think its a little more than that. What does it mean if you have lower back pain and my urine says my white blood cell count is high. I have absolutely no other symptoms. Any suggestions to what it is? Please help….I’m very confused and I really want to know what’s wrong with me.

About a week ago I woke up around 2:30 am and went to the emergency room because my back and legs hurt so bad. they took some blood and urine tests, and they came back normal. I was given strong pain medicine and sent home. The pain went away a couple of days later, but I am still wondering what caused it. Thanks!

What are possible causes for my lower back and leg pain?

I’m 22 and since about a year ago, I’ve been having lower back pain that’s been getting worst. I don’t do sports and there was no injury to the area. It comes and goes but it’s causing me more pain now and the pain is also in my legs. The pain is worst when I lie down at night and its a sharp pain radiating to a dull pain. The leg pain feels like nerve pain and it’s been making my legs very weak and I have trouble walking at times. I also get this weird tingling sensation in my lower body and it makes my legs weak and knees buckle. I’ve been to several doctors and they told me it was muscle pain at first, told me to exercise, and gave me anti-inflammatory meds. None of that worked, and they are having xrays dones and my CT scan is schedule for monday. I’m pretty nervous, and the doctory said she does not know what it is without the test results and does not know what the problem could be. Anyone have similar experiences and can tell me what it was or any ideas what it could be?
Will CT scans always be helpful to find out problems relating to my back pain? Seems like some of you think that I should not be getting a CT scan. What is the worst possible problem that could be causing my pain? I just want to be prepared. I don’t do any lifting or heavy exercise, so the slipped disc thing seems weird… Does it just happen?

What is causing my lower-back pain, especially after sitting?

Benny asked:

My lower back has been hurting me almost constantly for the past several months. It has gotten to the point that I avoid sitting down whenever and however possible. I can only get on the computer by lying slightly reclined on my bed and using my laptop. Some days are better or worse than others, but the pain persists. The only other symptom I have is that I am rather stiff all over when I wake up in the mornings. I walk like Frankenstein for about 15 to 30 minutes, and then I can walk more normally, even though my lower-back still hurts. Bloodwork is inconclusive, and so for the doctors haven’t been able to figure out what is going on with me. Can someone help?

Could upper back pain be associated with scoliosis?

I have constant pain on my left side upper back. It seems to mostly be around my shoulder blade, almost under it. My neck also gets sore. My entire back can get pretty painful as well, but it’s not constant. I find it diffacult to sit with my back straight without slouching for a long period, especially if I am not thinking about it. My left side of my body seems to be uneven with my right, like its lower. It’s like my ribs and my hip are trying to touch. I have suspected that this could be scoliosis, but I would like other opinions to see if it is likly scoliosis or maybe something else. Also, if it makes any difference, I am a 22 yr old female and have had two children. I became pregnant 5 months after the birth of my first child, and I had a lot of pain during pregnancy. I have visited a chiropractor and taken pain medication but none of this seems to help for any long period of time. thanks a lot for any help you can give.
Also wanted to add that this has been going on for at least one year, so I know it isn’t just a pulled muscle or anything like that. The chiropractor wasnt able to determine anything for sure since I was pregnant when I went
