22 weeks pregnant and possessing “discomfort” in my sides to back?
Question by Jenn: 22 weeks pregnant and possessing “pain” in my sides to back?
I am 22 weeks pregnant and I am obtaining “pain” in my sides and lower back. What could it be? It’s not like a undesirable pain I guess more uncomfortable. I have by no means felt one thing like it. It just happened tonight while I was laying on my bed. Thanks!

If everything else is normal (no temperature, no urinary problems) then it is probably just muscle and ligament pain due to an expanding uterus. Very common.

I felt pain in my back around 22 weeks, a pain so bad I broke out in a sweat and had to breathe slowly. It stopped when I switched positions but was so far the most painful thing Ive experienced. I wanna say it might have been a braxton hick but not sure, maybe some nerve was being pressed or a bad position.

The Baby could be pressing on a nerve or something. If it continues I would call your Doctor.

I had almost the exact same thing last night. You need to drink lots of water you dehydrated, or thats what the hospital told me. Im 19 weeks and they said that its my uterus and it needs more water, and the fact that your baby is going to be growing very rapidly your body is growing to accomidate it. there is ligaments that go from both sides of your pelvic bone to your uterus and from the bottom of your pelvic bone to the top of your uterus and from your bum to the top back part of your uterus so its just those ligaments stretching! hope all works out!!

Probably just from getting further along in your pregnancy. It could be the sciatic nerve getting pinched a bit.

I used to have pains so bad with my second pregnancy that I would stand up out of bed and then just couldn’t move without severe pain.I was so worried about it and I told the doctor and he was just like” oh it’s no big deal, the baby’s just stuck in a strange position, it’ll move” and then he also called them some weird name and I’m not sure if that was something different than where the baby was positioned or a problem with a muscle. So I’m probably not being that helpful, but I’m just lettting you know that I had SOOO many weird pains in my pregnancy and they all turned out to be nothing life threatening for me or the baby, just associated with pregnancy, so maybe that will make you feel less worried. But on the other hand, I should definitely tell you to see a doctor if it continues or go the ER if it gets worse, it’s never bad to have things checked out when it comes to the health of your baby and you! Good luck!

It is from where your spine is moving forward. This happen throughout pregnancy.
